This is the website of the N Gauge Society's Modern Area Group. The group, itself, is for modellers in N Gauge interested in modelling diesel and electric traction regardless of age or period.

So whether you're into pre-TOPS blue, post-TOPS blue, blue/grey, Intercity, sectorisation, post-privatisation or even overseas, this area group - and website - aims to cater for you.

To be a member of this area group, you will need to be a member of the N Gauge Society as all NGS area groups are open to members of the N Gauge Society only.

If you are not a member of the N Gauge Society, joining couldn't be simpler. The Society has the facility for joining online via a secure server - just click the link below if you are interested.

There are many benefits to joining the N Gauge Society - exclusive society kits, an extensive library, discounts with certain shops, a bi-monthly journal devoted exclusively to N Gauge railway modelling and area groups throughout the UK.

If you are reading this page from outside the UK or you model non-UK based railways, don't worry - while the society is based in the UK it caters for your interests too and the society can also count quite a few people from distant shores as members plus there is a flourishing World Wide Area Group too.

So what are you waiting for? Join the N Gauge Society today if you're not already a member and then join the N Gauge Modern Area Group to enjoy the benefits of modelling diesel and electric traction in N Gauge.
